Bikini and heels rules
According to the various bodybuilding associations
IFBB
The attire for the Elimination Round and all other Rounds (Two-Piece Bikini) will conform to the following criteria:
- The bikini will be opaque two-piece in style.
- The colour, fabric, texture, ornamentation and style of the bikini as well as the colour and style of the high-heels will be left to the competitor’s discretion, except as indicated in the below.
- Sole thickness of the high-heels may have maximum of 1 cm and stiletto height may have maximum of 12 cm. Platform shoes are not allowed.
- The bikini bottom will cover a minimum of 1/3 of the gluteus maximus and all of the frontal area. The bikini must be in good taste. Strings are strictly prohibited.
- The attire will be inspected during the Official Athlete Registration.
NPC
- Competitors will compete in a two-piece suit.
- The bottom of the suit must be v-shaped.
- No Thongs are permitted.
- Competitors can compete in an off the rack suit.
- All swimsuits must be in good taste.
- Athletes will be warned about improper suits and are advised to bring two (2) suits to check in. If the fronts of the suit(s) bottoms are too low and the judges deem them so at check-in’s, then the suit must be constructed higher, otherwise the Athletes will be scored down if the suit is not up to standard.
- Competitors must wear high heels.
- Competitors may wear jewelry.
PCA
- Attire will be a 2 piece bikini of any colour, fabric or texture that may be decorated with crystals or similar.
- The bikini bottom must cover all of the frontal area & be tasteful & feminine from the rear.
- Shoes can be of any style, with a heel height of no more than 5-inches.
- We ask that all shoes are fit for purpose and safe to walk in.
- Athletes must not wear tiaras or any other head-dress.
- Jewellery can be worn but must be tasteful & not detract from the physique.
- Bikini, jewellery & shoes will not be judged.
NABBA
- All competitor attire will be inspected upon morning check-in.
- Competitors will compete in a two-piece bikini. suit bottoms must be v-shaped.
- No thongs are permitted.
- All swimsuits must be in good taste and not too revealing.
- Competitors must wear high heels.
- Competitors may wear jewelry.
INBF
A traditional two-piece bikini posing suit is worn and may be multi-colored or solid, and embellishments and jewelry is permitted. Shoes are required but height of heels is optional.
Competition Bikini Suits
- “Micro Pro”, “Scoop”, or other suits with minimal glute coverage are not allowed.
- “Brazilian” cut or suits that provide moderate coverage are preferred.
