Bikini division posing
Posing is one of the most popular searches in google.
Our days people know better about diet and training then they know about posing.
Main reason can be the different requirements in each organization.
While training and diet are pretty much the same whether you’re from France or New Zealand, train at 5am or 8pm, 20y.o or 40y.o – posing keeps changing.
Now, it is not a bad thing to evolve, posing has changed in the last century, if you have seen
Sandow’s posing you’d thought you’re in ancient Greece.
Why then bikini competitors are still trying to find out how to pose correctly?
I’ll give you my four reasons:
1. Bikini division was formally recognized by IFBB in 2010, it means that we have only had ten years to invent/approve/disapprove different poses so the judges could understand the competitor condition and proportion.
2. Tension between different organizations make them want to be unique so they try hard not to “copy” others. Which, in my opinion is pretty stupid.
3. Following reason #2 – prohibition of some poses, once an organization declares a certain way of posing it completely prohibit different poses.
4. CHARACTER & CREATIVITY – today’s athletes are not like 20-30 years ago when you were born into this, you led what is right and wrong, you went with your truth all the way. Arnold invent his own poses, so Sergio Olivia, Frank Zane and more. They didn’t care about rules, they what seems good to them.
Today’s media and huge athletes community makes you feel like a screw in a huge factory,
you dareless, you are afraid of losing points, basically afraid of the system,
your uniqueness fades when itcomes to big shows.
One example of an unfortunate mistake to my opinion is giving up the exposed back (back pose) andallow the long hair all over the back. Great way to miss correct back V-Shape, rear deltoid andconditioning.
My advice:
Lead and don’t be led by others. Lose points if necessary.
A good athlete is good everywhere, anytime regardless this or that title.
Make organizations allow you more poses with certain guidelines just like they allow men.
